RepoWrit

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: March 22, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of RepoWrit ("the Service"), operated at repowrit.com. By using RepoWrit, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

RepoWrit is an AI-powered documentation tool that integrates with GitHub to automatically generate and update project documentation. The Service analyzes code changes and produces summaries, README updates, and other documentation artifacts using artificial intelligence.

2. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

RepoWrit provides AI-generated content. While we strive for accuracy, AI systems can produce errors, inaccuracies, or "hallucinations" — content that sounds plausible but is factually incorrect.

You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and approving all documentation generated by RepoWrit before merging it into your repositories. We strongly recommend treating AI-generated documentation as a draft that requires human review.

RepoWrit is not liable for any damages, losses, or issues arising from AI-generated content, including but not limited to:

  • Inaccurate technical documentation
  • Misleading API descriptions
  • Incorrect setup or installation instructions
  • Any downstream effects of using AI-generated documentation without review

3. Accounts and Access

3.1 GitHub Authentication

RepoWrit uses GitHub OAuth for authentication. By signing in, you authorize us to access your GitHub profile and selected repositories as described in our Privacy Policy.

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your RepoWrit account.

4. Subscription Plans and Payments

4.1 Plans

RepoWrit offers multiple subscription tiers (including free and paid plans). Features, limits, and pricing are described on our Pricing page and may be updated from time to time.

4.2 Merchant of Record

All payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service. Lemon Squeezy handles all billing, invoicing, tax collection, refunds, and chargebacks.

4.3 Billing Cycle

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing cycle.

4.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your Builder or Scale plan at any time:

  • Through the billing portal accessible from your RepoWrit dashboard
  • By contacting support@repowrit.com

Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free Hobbyist tier.

No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle. See our Refund Policy for full details, including our 7-day money-back guarantee.

5. Fair Use Policy

5.1 Reasonable Use

While certain plans include "unlimited" PR summaries or documentation syncs, all usage is subject to our Fair Use Policy. We expect usage consistent with a human developer or team using the Service in good faith.

5.2 Prohibited Use

The following activities are prohibited:

  • Automated bot-spamming of commits or pull requests to generate excessive documentation syncs
  • Using the Service to reverse-engineer, extract, or replicate AI model outputs at scale
  • Reselling or redistributing RepoWrit-generated content as a competing service
  • Intentionally overloading the Service infrastructure

5.3 Throttling and Suspension

We reserve the right to throttle, rate-limit, or temporarily suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are abusing the Service. We will attempt to notify you before taking action, except in cases where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Code

You retain all ownership rights to your source code. RepoWrit does not claim any intellectual property rights over your code or repositories.

6.2 Generated Documentation

Documentation generated by RepoWrit from your code is considered a derivative work of your code. You own the generated documentation.

6.3 The Service

RepoWrit, its branding, design, and underlying technology are the property of RepoWrit. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the Service.

7. Account Termination

7.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  1. Uninstalling the RepoWrit GitHub App from your GitHub account
  2. Contacting support@repowrit.com to request account deletion

7.2 By Us

We may terminate or suspend your account if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You engage in prohibited use as defined in Section 5
  • Your account has been inactive for more than 12 months
  • We are required to do so by law

We will provide reasonable notice before termination except where prohibited by law or where immediate action is required.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • RepoWrit is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated content.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of RepoWrit is limited to the total amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.

If you are on the free Hobbyist tier, our maximum liability is $0.

In no event shall RepoWrit be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold RepoWrit harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of AI-generated content without adequate review

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which RepoWrit operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
